Background to formation

The PWMRG CIC was set up in November 2018 to provide an umbrella body for many sports and recreation groups who use the current pavilion, field and old office area. This enables the groups to go to their respective sports associations and other grant funders to apply for grants (as they will be connected to the CIC through the long lease) and allow the community generally to have more input into the development of the grounds. Currently representative directors are made up of 4 councillors and 2 representatives from the main sports clubs who use the grounds.

The CIC was granted a lease in 2021 to manage and maintain the grounds. This is in conjunction with a Service Level Agreement with the Town Council during the transitional years.

The CIC was created “to carry on activities which benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to the communities of Polegate.”
