Safety & Security

There is CCTV at the recreation ground to prevent crime. Footage is NOT generally available to individuals, but can be provided to the police for criminal matters. The CCTV is monitored by Polegate Town Council on our behalf following the appropriate legislation and guidance. The nearest public defibrillator is at St Johns Church in the high Street. In the event of a medical emergency requiring a defibrillator please call 999 and follow their instructions.

There are first aid kits in both the Pavilion and the office area but are only available for use when the sports areas are in use and open. (Times vary).

The play equipment and outdoor gym is checked Monday to Friday once per day.

The parks are also checked monthly for maintenance and annual for overall safety.

The park is checked for litter Monday to Friday. There are 2 bins provided on site in the play area. There is also a concrete public waste bin in the car park.

Anti social behaviour should be reported to Sussex Police, ideally at the time it occurs on Tel: 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk. Please call 999 for an emergency or crime in progress if it is safe to do so.

Polegate War Memorial Recreation Ground CIC take its health and safety responsibilities seriously. Although social distancing rules have been changed for outside activities the risk of transmission remains at this present time. Please follow the relevant Government guidance including washing hands before and after touching surfaces and avoiding eating or drinking in the park. Please put all rubbish in the litter bins provided. If you are using the facilities please follow instructions provided by your sports / recreation organiser.
